Charles J. “Chuck” Meltz

Charles J. “Chuck” Meltz is a shareholder of the firm who leads the professional liability practice group.  A double graduate of the University of Florida, Mr. Meltz received his BSBA in 1990 and JD in 1993.  Upon graduation, Mr. Meltz worked as an Assistant State Attorney for the 18th Judicial Circuit, where he obtained significant trial experience (both jury and non-jury).  Since 1996, Mr. Meltz has practiced exclusively as a civil litigator and he has been a partner at Telan, Meltz, Wallace & Eide, P.A. since February of 2004.

Mr. Meltz’s practice centers around the representation of attorneys and accountants in both civil and administrative settings.  He additionally represents real estate professionals, property managers, financial advisors and healthcare providers, both in court and in and in front of regulatory/licensing boards.  Mr. Meltz has significant experience in both State and Federal Court and is admitted to practice in all of Florida’s Federal Districts (including their respective Bankruptcy divisions).  Mr. Meltz has tried cases on behalf of various professionals throughout Florida and is frequently in court arguing complex motions, which are both evidentiary and non-evidentiary in nature.  Mr. Meltz also handles Appellate matters and has had multiple oral arguments before the Fifth District Court of Appeal.

Mr. Meltz is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell.  He leads a team of smart, experienced attorneys, who similarly focus their practice on the defense of professionals.  His cases frequently involve complex, multi-party issues, with voluminous documents, ESI considerations and claims for both monetary and equitable relief.  For each case, there is a thoughtful initial investigation, detailed discussions and communications with the client and a clear plan forward created.  Strategies are tailored towards a targeted goal, ranging from pre suit resolution to trial.  Mr. Meltz is particularly skilled in developing creative litigation strategies to achieve success.  Discovery is mapped out to efficiently achieve the targeted outcome, and the firm uses its attorneys and state of the art technology to carry out the litigation plan.  Client communication is a cornerstone of this approach to representation, and Mr. Meltz’s goal is to ease the stress of the process, which can be overwhelming.

When not at the office, Mr. Meltz enjoys spending time with his family and their two dogs (a retired guide dog for the blind and a Chihuahua who has contributed nothing to society).
